    Support the day-to-day Loan Documentation and Funding control (LD&FC) activities for the Bank’s SBA closing division.  This position will be responsible for the loan documentation on SBA transactions to include SBA term debt and construction debt – including SBA 504 loans.  This position is responsible for the review, coordination, and execution of a loan closing transaction.  The average loan size handled by this team is $750,000 – 1.2MM, with a strong emphasis in construction lending.  This position ensures the loan documentation matches the loan approval and all documentation is fully executed to ensure appropriate perfection of liens prior to releasing funds to the borrower.  


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensures that all loans and funding documentation are in compliance with the SBA SOP
    • Demonstrates strong knowledge of SBA 7(a), SBA Express, and SBA 504 loan programs
    • Reviews loan approval documentation and generate a comprehensive due diligence needs list according to credit policy and SBA requirements
    • Reviews third party reports (to include Phase I Environmental, Appraisals, Plan & Cost Reviews, Property Condition Reports)
    • Reviews and balances complex construction budgets to ensure compliance with approval and SBA construction guidelines
    • Prepares electronic booking package to ensure accurate on-boarding to the system
    • Engages bank approved attorneys to facilitate the documentation and loan closing throughout the transaction
    • Timely follow up and management of incoming items from the borrower, RM, and attorney
    • Review title policies, surveys, and related construction due diligence to ensure compliance with bank policies
    • Handles complex closings to include construction loans
    • Able to access risk and make decisions based on experience and transaction detail


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Paralegal Studies or an equivalent of 2 years of professional experience specializing in Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Lending, or commercial loan documentation.



    • SBA lending, documentation, closing and/or construction related experience preferred.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Paralegal experience is a plus
    • A combination of experience in two or more of these areas is highly desired – legal, loan closing, loan administration, loan documentation, loan review, audit or compliance.
    • Proven track record of in-depth review of all types of commercial loans
    • For bilateral credit facilities, knowledge/experience in perfection of liens on real estate collateral
    • Efficiency, attention to detail, accuracy, ability to work well with others and being a team player are crucial requirements for this position.
    • Ability to handle stress and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
    • Focus on meeting strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with management, peers, and customers
