Responsibilities

The Mortgage Margin Management Analyst will be responsible for ensuring target margins are competitive and revenues are within expected levels. The individual will be responsible for the development and maintenance of ad-hoc reports, complex analysis models and key performance metrics related to pricing competitiveness, margin management and market share. 

The position will partner with key internal business partners across the organization to identify and recommend pricing strategies that maximize performance against sales and profit / revenue goals.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Pricing Analysis & Strategies
    1. Review the performance of current strategies and make recommendations for optimizing profitability
    2. Measure effectiveness of pricing strategies
    3. Provide recommendations to leadership on enhancements to price strategy and models
    4. Perform comparisons to company/industry benchmarks
    5. Communicate with sales leaders on pricing information and analysis
    6. Identify market opportunities for incremental volume or margin improvements
    7. Development and implementation of price optimization tools and models to perform quantitative analysis
  2. Coordinate with Daily Pricing Operations
    1. Monitor daily competitive price position process
    2. Perform and communicate changes to margins as necessary
  3. Provide Pricing Expertise and Leadership
    1. Support and maintain enhancements to tools and models
    2. Establish and monitor key performance metrics
    3. Develop analysis comparing performance versus goals
  4. Reporting
    1. Develop reporting as it relates to pricing, margin and share
    2. Develop revenue forecasting
    3. Track and measure breakeven of margin changes
    4. Conduct and develop tools to measure market elasticity
    5. Provide ad-hoc reports as directed by management
  5. Responsible for strict adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements as well as department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Finance or Engineering is preferred. 
  2. With a Master’s Degree, a minimum of one year of mortgage banking/fixed income experience in a quantitative role. Additional experience is required for progression through the job family; refer to Job Family matrix. 
  3. Thorough understanding of fixed income, mortgage pricing concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  4. A demonstrated ability to present analysis in a compelling, easy to understand manner.
  5. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  6. Strong knowledge of SAS, MS Access, Excel (Pivot Tables), SQL Server Report Builder, or other software that can be leveraged for analysis.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
