General Summary:


This position is responsible for post – closing, funding and servicing of commercial real estate construction and term loans.  The CRE funder is responsible for accurately disbursing and balancing loan funds and equity over the life of a real estate project.  Responsible for all servicing, including rate option pricing, grid pricing, and complex servicing to include participations/syndications bought and sold.  Monitor construction process to ensure lien-free completion and accurate funding during the construction process.


Key responsibilities:


  • Reviewing the loan approval and loan documents
  • Reviewing/balancing the project budget to include loan funds and equity
  • Reviewing loan advance requests for accuracy and completion, to include borrower budget, AIA G702/G703, lien waivers, and numerous industry standard construction documents
  • Funding the loan according to the bank approval and the loan documents
  • Ordering date down endorsements from title
  • Ordering third party reports as needed
  • Reviewing all due diligence items as they come in for accuracy and sufficiency, according to Bank policy
  • Timely follow up and management of incoming items from the borrower, attorney, and relationship manager
  • Reviewing title policies, surveys, environmental reports, appraisals, and any third party report that relates to the transaction.
  • Accurately funding advance requests utilizing AFS, CLCS, and Loan Administration.
  • Review and balance the loan on AFS Level III
  • Working with business partners in the Loan HUB to ensure accurate servicing of the loan to include:  rate changes, payment schedules, SWAP information, etc.
  • Managing welcome calls with the borrower, contractors, lender, and attorney


Qualifications / Skills / Experience:  AFS Level III, CLCS, Excel, Construction Management


Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Legal Studies or an equivalent of 2 years of professional experience



CRE loan closer funder II

  • 2 years in Commercial Real Estate loan funding.
  • 2 years within a financial institution and/or law firm with extensive experience funding large Commercial Real Estate credits


CRE loan closer funder III

  • 3-4 years in Commercial Real Estate loan funding or construction administration.
  • 3-4 years within a financial institution and/or law firm with extensive experience funding large Commercial Real Estate credits. 



  • Paralegal experience is a plus
  • LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit) experience
  • A combination of experience in two or more of these areas is highly desired – legal, loan closing, loan administration, loan documentation, loan review, audit or compliance, construction administration, construction management
  • Proven track record of in-depth review of all types of commercial loan documentation, along with extensive knowledge/experience in commercial real estate funds administration
  • Detail Oriented. Must be able to balance loan budgets and identify budget issues
  • Ability to handle stress and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting Service Level Agreements
  • Focus on accomplishing work assigned within a frame time
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels within the organization to include peers, executive management, attorneys, and third party vendors.
