    Tech Focus Program

    The LEAP program recruits top talent from universities across the country and is made up of four components: Learning, Evaluation, Application and Placement. For the tech focused track of the LEAP Program (called LEAP TECH), we are looking for technical individuals who have an interest in opportunities such as front and back end development to help transform our global organization. During the rotational program, participants will receive extensive job preparation and skills training through the bank’s technology departments.



    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or related field with a graduation date of December 2017 or May 2018
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • Working knowledge of programing languages including but not limited to Python, Ruby, Java
    • Working knowledge of technical terminology within information security, hardware, software, networking or programming
    • Authorized to work in the US without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future

    General Requirements

    • Proficient in Microsoft office and Google Suite
    • Working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Access is preferred
    • Strong leadership skills demonstrated through campus and community involvement as well as work experiences and involvement in extracurricular activities preferred


    Work Environment

    • Most work is performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment with occasional assignments outside the office. Standard business hours, weekdays only.
    • This position requires the ability to work in a team and communicate ideas by means of spoken word in person, by phone, digitally and/or electronically



    The training program will take place at BBVA Compass corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Placement is not guaranteed and will depend on open positions.  Placement is also subject to applicable company policies.
