What you will be doing:

BBVA is building an ambitious Bank as a Service business and looks for a fintech and API experienced profile, with a great balance between technical and banking profile enough to lead a Scrum team while manage partners and their business.

This Product Owner will be part of the BBVA Open Platform global team, working closely with other Product Owners based in the US, Spain and other countries. The main functions of the product owner will be:

  • This role will lead  and boost all the definition required in the implementation of the APIs, by working closely with BBVA IT teams in Agile methodology.
  • As a Product Owner, you will work alongside our lead developers to create, design, manage and document our APIs.
  • In terms of the functional definitions and business agreements, you will spearhead the BBVA business dialogue with both internal and external partners.
  • We would expect you to build relationships and processes to identify and integrate partner APIs into the Open Platform over time.

Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • At least 5 years as product manager in a fintech business in the US, with a preference for someone who has worked a minimum two years in a startup environment.  
  • At least 5 years of experience managing projects/businesses  in complex environments for an international firm
  • Experience documenting API development preferred.  
  • Open Platform’s specific technical knowledge: API Management and Design, Developer Center, SDKs, GitHub, StackOverflow, Cloud…
  • Agile methodology

 

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Technology or Business Administration
  • Optional: Master / PhD degrees
